Wellbeing Guide To UBUD | BALI

October 6th, 2013 by baoli

The German born jewellery designer and the creative director of Ananda Soul Creations, Christina Zipperlen, has been calling Ubud, Bali a home for several years now. Her beautiful and feminine creations breathe passion, love and harmony into our lives. We feel especially honoured to be given a private tour around her popular wellbeing spots of Ubud as The Baoli SHOP introduces her latest ethical jewellery collection. Welcome to BALI!

1 Wellness Spa: Cantika
Cantik means beautiful in Indonesian. And that’s exactly how you feel inside and out when being pampered at Cantika Spa. Receive an all natural facial while looking out on the rice fields, experience deep relaxation during a Balinese massage or get your head rubbed with natural ingredients leaving your hair healthy and glowing.

2 Organic Café: Alchemy
Amazing raw food salad bar, raw chocolates, green juices and other delights. My absolute favorite café in town – you’ll find me there most days. Alchemy is the Bali’s first 100% raw vegan cafe & juice bar, organic health food store, and holistic clinic and its vision is to honour Mother Nature – and they certainly are doing an amazing job at it!

3 Holistic Clinic: Radiantly Alive
Apart from being an amazing yoga studio, Radiantly Alive offers a range of holistic therapies, from modern to traditional, delivering palpable and powerful results. From Acupuncture to Colon Hydrotherapy, Lomi Lomi Massage to Bio-Energetic Analysis, their guideline is what works.

4 Eco-hotel: Desa Atas Awan
‘Village Above the Clouds’ is a unique eco-boutique hotel nestled in the foothills of Munduk Andong Kelod, just one hour northwest of Ubud. You are immersed in tranquility and breathtaking views with clarity all the way to the ocean. Designed for the traveler looking for an extraordinary and authentic Balinese experience, it offers a perfect and peaceful escape to relax and unwind.

5 Ethical Shop: Ananda Soul Creations
Ananda means Bliss in Sanskrit and Ananda Soul Creation’s mission is to create a bit of that through the work they do and the jewelery they produce. The shop is located in the centre of Bali, selling ethically produced jewellery and clothing handcrafted by local artisans. 10% of each sale from Ananda Soul Creations goes to the Safe Childhoods Foundation, an inspiring organisation preventing child trafficking in Indonesia.

6 Yoga & Dance: Yogabarn
The Yogabarn Bali is the go-to spot for a large variety of yoga classes, workshops, retreats, dance and yoga teacher trainings. With four studios, a holistic spa area, a workshop shala and a vegetarian café you really don’t need to go anywhere else.

7 Vegetarian Restaurant: Soma
Soma is a cute little vegetarian restaurant in the centre of Ubud and its owners focus on highest standards of health, eco and animal welfare. With its cozy feel, it is the perfect hang out spot offering yummy raw, vegan and vegetarian delights. My absolute favorite is the ‘sweet and simply’ dish with steamed pumpkin, spinach and tempe.

8 Wellbeing Retreat: High Vibe Yoga
High Vibe Yoga are a unique experience that goes far beyond yoga. Be transformed by a 7 day retreat with inspiring teachers, guest speakers, morning meditations & incredible food – and most of all laughter, joy & new friends. Deepen your yoga practice or begin a yoga practice with Bali’s most experienced and well-traveled yoga teachers.

9 Nature Exploration: Sepeda Bali Cycling Tour
Discover the stunning beauty of Bali’s rice fields, volcanoes and villages on mountain bikes. Local Wayan Kembar will take you on a fun-filled day showing you the magic of this island and spots rarely seen by tourists. A unique cultural experience off the beaten path on dirt and through exotic jungles…
